Our hosts were family friends dating back almost 30 years. Right to left is Rodrigo, Ana, Ale, and Gabi. Rodrigo is an agronomist and consults with different produce companies (Dole, etc.) throughout Central America. He studied at the University of Minnesota for his masters degree and became significantly involved in a ministry that my wife (Roberta) led on the U of M campus. Our daughter, Nina, lived with the Soto family for a month when she was 15 and this started her love affair with Spanish.
Conor and I enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of this family for two days and we ate even more amazing food. Additionally, Rodrigo provided ongoing history lessons and filled us in on current political and economic situation in CR. What a treat to be in this home! - Jay
